She has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies also.


Mamta Mohandas was born in Bahrain on November 14th 1985. Her schooling was from the Indian School, Bahrain and she later graduated from Mount Carmel, Bangalore. She is trained in Karnatic and Hindustani music.


Mamta has tried her hand in modelling for some time. She walked the ramp for the Mysore Maharajah and Raymonds. She has also done some print ads for IBM and Kalyan Kendra.Mamta owns a Honda CBR 1000RR motorcycle as she loves speed and races on open roads.


She landed in some controversy when she was linked to her co star Suresh Gopi in Lanka. Mamta Mohandas started to work with Hariharan's Malyalam movie Mayookham in 2005. This movie was a flop but Mamta was noticed by all because of the character she played and then appeared in a supporting role in Bus Conductor.


Her singing debut was in the movie Rakhee and she received the Filmfare Award for the Best Playback Female Singer(2007) in Telugu. In the Kollywood industry she sang the title song for Kaalai. She was a supporting actress in Yamadonga directed by SS Rajamouli, which proved to be a big hit. She also sang a couple of songs for this movie.
